Roshan Samaaji Khidmat
Roshan Samaaji Khidmat is a social initiative of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for Overseas Pakistanis who can now make Zakat & Donation payments digitally through their Roshan Digital Account (RDA) and Islamic Roshan Digital Account (IRDA).
Askari Bank’s customers can donate to multiple charitable organizations and Ehsaas Program.

The funds available in Roshan Digital accounts can be remitted back from Pakistan at any time without prior approval
from the bank or SBP. However, in case of disinvestment in real estate before three years from the date of investment,
the principal amount invested can be repatriated at any time while the capital gain, if any, can be repatriated after
three years from the date of investment. In case the investment is made in installments, the date of payment of the
last installment shall be treated as date of investment. Please refer to Annexure A para 1 (d)
of the FE Circular 01 of 2020 available at http://www.sbp.org.pk/epd/2020/FEC1.htm.
The funds available in Roshan Digital accounts can be used for making any legitimate payment or transfer to other local accounts in Pakistan digitally through Internet Banking. The funds can also be withdrawn in cash in Pakistan through ATM or cheque.
RDA Holders also have the option to invest in AKBL Term Deposit Products.

Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPCs) are high-interest yielding sovereign investment certificates issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for Foreign Currency Value Account holders (FCVA) and Pakistani Rupee Value Account holders (NRVA).

Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificates (INPC) for Askari Islamic Roshan Digital Account Customers

The Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificate are issued by Government of Pakistan, for Islamic Roshan Digital Account holders. Non-resident Pakistanis & Resident Pakistanis (with declared assets abroad) can now invest in Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificates.
Key Features:
- INPCs are based on a Mudarabah, whereby the investor will enter into a Mudarabah contract for investment of their funds in Shari'ah Compliant INPCs with the INPC Company Limited. The investors are Rab-ul-Maal and INPC Company Limited is the Mudarib.
- The INPC Company Limited (Mudarib) will share the profit with investors on the basis of pre-determined percentage of the distributable profit of the business, called Profit Sharing Ratio (PSR).
- All the investors will be assigned weightages based on the features of the INPC held by them, for the purpose of calculation of profit.
- Offered in multiple currencies; PKR, USD.
- Short and long-term investment tenors of 3-Months, 6-Months, 12-Months, 3-Years and 5-Years.
- These certificates can be pledged as collateral/security under applicable SBP rules.

The certificates are exempt from compulsory zakat deduction.
- US Dollar Denominated Certificates Minimum investment of USD 1,000 with integral multiples of USD 500.
- PKR Denominated Certificates Minimum investment of PKR 10,000 with Integral multiples of PKR 1,000.
- The profit payment frequency for 3-Months, 6-Months & 12-Months INPCs are "At Maturity"; whereas, for 3- Years and 5-Years INPCs, profit will be paid "Bi-annually".
- In-case of pre mature encashment, principle and profit amount will be paid at per Schedule of Early Redemption.
- State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is the sole custodian of the Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificates while AKBL-lkhlas is acting as an agent to the same.
Procedure for Periodic Payments:
- The periodic profit payments shall be made on six (6) monthly basis only in respect of Islamic Naya Pakistan Certificate of 3-years and 5-years maturities in their respective currencies.
- The INPC Company Limited (Mudarib) will share the profit with investors on the basis of pre-determined percentage of the distributable profit of the business, called Profit Sharing Ratio (PSR).
- The six (6) months for the periodic payment shall be determined from the date of issuance of the certificates.
For example: if certificates are issued on 10th September 2020, the profit payments shall be made on 10th March 2021and on subsequent six-monthly dates accordingly.
- In case of a holiday on the periodic profit or principal payment date, the next working day falling after the holiday will be considered the periodic profit date/principal payment date. In such case, no profit will be payable for the period of the holidays.
